biophysics

Scope and methods of biophysics Biophysics is the branch of science concerned with the experimental and theoretical study of biological system using the background and concept of physics. It is a molecular science . It seeks to explain biological functions in terms of molecular structures and properties of specific molecules . The size of these molecules varies from small fatty acids and sugars to macromolecules like protein and elongated DNA molecules. These molecules , the sole building blocks of living organisms assemble cells, tissues, organs. Biophysics has been classified as: 1. Molecular Biophysics 2. Biophysics of cell 3. Biophysics of complex system  Molecular Biophysics It is concerned with the study of the structure and physiochemical properties of biologically functional molecules ; biopolymers, proteins and nucleic acids. Its objective is to disclose the physical mechanism responsible for the ...

Solar Energy

Solar Energy The world population till date is estimated to number 7.13 billion by the United States Census Bureau (USCB). Global population in the last two millennium has increased in a rapid and by the end of 2050 it is assumed to be (8-10) billions. There is no doubt world’s energy needs will be growing much more steeply from now than at any time since the beginning of industrial revolution. We need a lot of energy for light, heat, transport, food and so on in daily life. We can get this energy by several ways. For example, there is energy from the sun (solar energy), hydrogen, coal, oil, gas, river/ocean (hydroelectricity), nuclear energy etc .Although experts argue that nuclear energy as clean source of energy and does not produce any chemical or solid pollutants, the uranium that is used in fueling the nuclear plants still remains radioactive and can still harm the surrounding community affecting the loss of life and human settlements. The use of oil, coal and gas lea...
