Applying DHCP on Workgroup Network: Dynamic host Configuration Protocol can be used to assign Automatic (Dynamic) IP Addresses to all computers in the network. But for this at least one computer must have windows server operating system installed and it must be configured as a DHCP server. Steps: 1.     First DHCP must be installed on the Server. ICS (Internet connection Sharing) This is used to share a single Internet Connection among all computers in the network. This is the preferred method of accessing the Internet in networks. But heavy usage can slow down the speed of the Internet Connection. To achieve this, a computer has to be configured as the ICS Server where all internet requests will be sent and received. This is the computer to which the internet line is directly connected to. In case of dial up internet this computer will require a modem or in the case of cable internet it will require two network cards . Where printer is concerned three terms need to be remembered: Printer: This relates to the driver software of the print device and not the actual printer.
