Challenging obstacles for immigrants

Many people immigrate every year, towards developed country (USA, Canada, Australia, UK etc.)  to get a better life. As a highly developed country, they can be the best choice for the immigrants from all around the world and can offer a high standard life to them. However, immigrants face various difficulties during the first years of their entrance in to the developed country. Language barrier, finding a job and the cultural differences are the most common challenges.

Language barrier is the first challenge for the immigrants. It will be very hard for them to communicate with others. Even though most of immigrants spend lots of time and money to learn English before moving to developed country, it will not be very easy for them to use their language skills in every day’s life. Since developed country, has a divers population, it will be hard for the immigrants to understand the different accents of native speakers. Also it takes a long time to learn all the different accepts of new language including the vocabulary, grammar and expressions; so, most of immigrants need to focus on improving their language skills for the first years of their immigration.

The second challenge for immigrants is getting a job. As language is a problem to immigrants, most of them will fail in the job interviews. Despite the fact that they may be smart, well educated and have great experience and skills; they can’t demonstrate their abilities in the best way in the interviews. Moreover, the difference in the technology, standards and companies policies around the world will make it harder for the immigrant to find their desirable job.

Cultural differences can be other challenge for the immigrants. Each county has its own traditions and culture and it is hard for some one to leave them behind and move to a new land with new culture and history. It is critical for the immigrant to find a balance between keeping faithful with his own values while understanding that he is in new country with different values that he should respect. For instance, in the Middle East culture, people are very dependent on their family and friends and they know details of each other’s problems; but in US, people are more independent and don’t interfere in others personal life.

Changing the country you are living in, is like changing your family and with its all excitement, it has lots of problems to offer. An immigrant should be quick learner, hard worker and highly adoptable to over come the challenges .
